Tai-Chi Exhibition

A 300 people Tai-Chi Exhibition

The Tai-Chi Fan Performance

Chinese Sword demonstration by a teenage girl from a youth martial arts group

I've got a new lens- a 75-300mm lens from my honey! Couldn't wait to test it out. I had so much fun last weekend trying it out during a Kungfu and Tai-Chi Exhibition in Kwun Tong. It is an event organized by well-known Tai-Chi Society, The Liang Ri Chu Ti-Chi Society in conjunction with the celebration of the 10th year anniversary of Hong Kong's handover. I got to know about this event because my mother performed in the show. There were 31 session of Tai-Chi and martial arts performances included the Chinese Kungfu, Chinese Sword, Kungfu Fan, of course-different variations of Tai-Chi and many more. It's simply amazing to see there are still a large number of Hong Kongers who are passionate about this old form of exercise/martial arts. The highlight of the day was the 24-variation style Tai-Chi which was performed by over 300 Tai-Chi practitioners at once, and most of them hadn't rehearsed together before-it's hard to believe that- Go check out the second last picture and you'll agree with me. I'm very happy about my new lens and I really appreciate it! Thanks, Russell ;)
